Abstract
Wind flow around buildings affects worker safety, construction equipment performance, air and pollution protection at entrances, and the ability to control temperature, humidity, airflow, and pollutants inside. Wind creates variable pressures on buildings that change the flow rates of inlet and outlet systems, natural ventilation, infiltration and explosion, and internal pressures. The average wind flow patterns and resulting turbulence as it passes over a building can return exhaust gases to air inlets. In this research, three buildings with rectangular plan dimensions of 30 meters by 45 meters and heights of 180, 120 and 240 meters have been modeled and the effect of changing the height of these buildings on the wind flow around them has been investigated. The results show that with the increase in height and the rest of the characteristics of the buildings remaining constant, the average wind speed around buildings with a height of 180 and 120 meters has reached 10 meters per second, and the comfort of passers-by around them is endangered; But the average wind speed around the building with a height of 240 meters and at the level of pedestrians has reached up to 5 meters per second and is within the permissible range. The suction in the building with a height of 240 meters takes place behind the building and at the level of its upper quarter. The suction behind the 180-meter building is equal to the suction behind the 120-meter building, but the location of the suction behind the 120-meter building is as far as the large dimension of the plan.
