Reviewing on the properties of geopolymer concrete

Abstract
Geopolymer concrete is a new material in the construction industry with good performance and efficiency. On the other hand, geopolymer concrete has good mechanical and durable properties against chemical attacks. The need to produce superior materials with a higher strength-to-weight ratio and better physical, mechanical, and durability properties is a new trend in the field of construction and building materials to achieve optimal use of resources and sustainable development. Due to the high consumption of cement, conventional concrete is known as an important factor in spreading harmful greenhouse gases during the production process of this important adhesive. Geopolymers minimize carbon dioxide emissions and may be a partial substitute for Portland cement in the construction industry and can play a valuable role in sustainable development. Geopolymer technology offers a solution for the use of industrial by-products containing aluminosilicate phases. On this occasion, today, many efforts are underway to use new technologies to produce environmentally friendly concrete, or in other words, green concrete. For this reason, this review article has extensively investigated the mechanical properties and durability of geopolymer concrete.
