Abstract
This editorial abstract introduces an exclusive written interview conducted by Ali Ghorbani with Harold Kerzner for Civil & Project Journal. The interview considers organizational and executive governance, the distribution of responsibility and authority, the limits of inflexible project management methods, and challenges arising from artificial intelligence in global projects. It also examines project management maturity, business value and value-in-use as measures of success, the alignment of project outcomes with strategy, and the changing demands of professional education. Kerzner emphasizes governance-supported decision-making, adaptable approaches, cross-cultural and legal competencies, interpersonal leadership, and the role of organizational structures in supporting teams. The conversation also addresses professional ethics and the importance of work-life balance. The ten questions and responses are reproduced from the original written exchange; this abstract has been prepared by the editorial office and is not a statement written or endorsed separately by the interviewee.
